Note: Read this before assuming tummy time struggles are just something babies have to “grow out of.”

I was exhausted in a way I didn’t know how to explain.

Every feed came with uncertainty because my baby had reflux, and I never knew how uncomfortable he’d be afterward.

Sometimes it was spit-up.

Sometimes crying.

Sometimes that tight arch of his back that told me something wasn’t right.

And no... I didn’t expect a lounger to have anything to do with reflux.

“Every feed felt like a question I didn’t know how to answer. Was this reflux normal, or was my baby trying to tell me something?”

When every feed ended the same way

Feeding him didn’t feel calm or connecting. It felt tense.

He’d finish eating, then squirm or stiffen like he couldn’t settle.

I started bracing myself instead of relaxing..
watching his body...
waiting for discomfort to show up...

I told myself reflux was common.

But watching him struggle after nearly every feed was hard to ignore.

A woman with dark hair in a white robe sits on a bed and holds a crying baby.

The small change I didn’t expect to help reflux

I came across Burplee during a late-night scroll..

Not looking for answers, just something gentler for after feeds.

I didn’t think it would help reflux.

I just wanted a place to set him down that didn’t leave him flat and uncomfortable.

It felt like a small, harmless change.

So I tried it...

What started changing after we brought it home

The difference wasn’t dramatic — it was noticeable.

Less spit-up after feeds

A calmer body instead of arching and stiffness

He was more comfortable being placed down after eating

He settled into rest and sleep more easily after feeds

The cycle after feeds felt different

Overall, he just seemed more at ease

“I finally felt like I was helping him instead of guessing.”

Why Burplee helped with reflux discomfort

Here’s the part I didn’t really understand until I saw it in our day-to-day routine:

A gentle incline supports digestion after feeds

Being slightly elevated helped him stay more comfortable instead of lying flat right after eating. It made post-feed time feel calmer and easier on his body.

The cushioned design keeps him settled

No sliding, no sudden movements. Just steady support that let him relax instead of tensing up or arching.

It reduces pressure instead of forcing positions

That small lift eased pressure on his tummy and chest without pushing him into anything unnatural.

Comfort made it easier for him to stay relaxed

When he wasn’t uncomfortable, he didn’t immediately fuss. Calm moments lasted longer, and transitions after feeds felt smoother.

This is what reflux progress actually looks like:

small moments that build on each other, day after day.

What finally brought me some peace

The biggest shift wasn’t dramatic...

it was reassuring.

I stopped second-guessing every feed.

I stopped waiting for discomfort to start.

If you’re dealing with reflux right now. Wiping spit-up, questioning yourself, wondering if this is just something you have to push through..

You’re not alone.

Burplee didn’t magically fix everything for us.

But it changed how our days felt after feeds.

But it changed how our days felt after feeds.

“Seeing my baby finally look comfortable after feeds was all the reassurance I needed.”
